Meet Bear. The Heart Behind Bear Basics.

Nic never planned on having another dog.
Then he heard about a Great Pyrenees who needed a home.
His name was Bear.Nic met him, fell in love with his sweet soul, and the rest, as they say, is history.When it came to treats, Nic wanted treats made with ingredients he knew and trusted. So, he decided to make his own for Bear.What started as one man's desire to give his best friend something better became Bear Basics.Today, Bear Basics is a small, locally operated business in Trenton, Ontario. We make homemade dog treats with simple, carefully selected ingredients and the same care that inspired Nic to start making treats for Bear.Inspired by Bear. Made for your best friend.

What makes Bear Basics treats different?Our homemade dog treats are made in Trenton, Ontario, using simple, carefully selected ingredients. We focus on making treats we'd be happy to give Bear, the Great Pyrenees who inspired our business.What ingredients are in your treats?Our Beef Liver Bites are made with 100% beef liver.Our Salmon Ice Cream contains Greek yogurt and wild Pacific pink salmon.Ingredients are listed with each product so you know what you're giving your dog.Are Beef Liver Bites safe for dogs?Beef liver can be a nutritious occasional treat, but moderation is important. Liver is naturally rich in vitamin A, and excessive consumption over time can be harmful.Introduce liver treats gradually, offer small portions appropriate for your dog's size, and avoid excessive or frequent feeding. Consult your veterinarian if your dog has a medical condition, follows a special diet, or already receives vitamin A supplements.How many treats should I give my dog?Treats should generally account for no more than 10% of your dog's daily calories. The remaining calories should come from a complete and balanced diet.Portions depend on your dog's size, age, activity level, and health.Can all dogs enjoy your Salmon Ice Cream?Many dogs can enjoy yogurt-based treats in moderation, but some dogs have difficulty digesting dairy. Our Salmon Ice Cream also contains fish.If your dog has a dairy or fish allergy, a sensitive stomach, or a medical condition requiring dietary restrictions, check with your veterinarian before offering it.How should I store Bear Basics treats?Beef Liver Bites: Keep refrigerated for up to one week or frozen for up to two months, following the package instructions.Salmon Ice Cream: Keep frozen until ready to serve. Never leave frozen treats sitting at room temperature for extended periods.Do you offer local pickup?Yes! Local pickup is free in Trenton, Ontario. We'll contact you to coordinate pickup details after receiving your order.Do you ship across Ontario?Yes. We currently offer shipping within Ontario for Beef Liver Bites at a flat rate of $10 CAD.Salmon Ice Cream is available for local pickup only. Orders containing both products must also be collected locally.How do I place an order?Click ORDER NOW, select your products and quantities, and choose pickup or shipping. Your order total will be calculated automatically.Complete your contact details and submit the order. We'll follow up to confirm the details.What payment methods do you accept?We currently accept Interac e-Transfer.
